Course Description:
This course is designed to help empower individuals in recovery with comprehensive, strengths-based, and recovery-oriented strategies to navigate some of the difficulties people face in winter, including shorter days, reduced sunlight, and increased risk of low mood and social isolation. Research findings, and actionable strategies to foster resilience and promote wellbeing with principles of positive psychology, cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and community connection are explored. Important elements of recovery, such as individualized care, self-compassion, and the importance of purpose and connection are discussed.

- Objective 1: To understand winter’s impact on mental health
- Objective 2: To become knowledgeable on how to build an achievable resilient daily routine and to develop steps to find a purpose and joy in winter
