Course Description:
Understanding Anxiety: Building Tools for Recovery is a four-week peer-supported course exploring what anxiety is, how it affects our thoughts, feelings, bodies and behaviours, and how we can respond to it in helpful ways.
Together, participants will learn to recognize anxiety patterns, understand avoidance, take small steps toward meaningful goals, and identify common thinking traps. Through discussion, activities and practical strategies, participants will build a personal toolkit of skills and approaches they can use in their everyday lives.
This is a welcoming and supportive space to learn, share experiences and discover that anxiety does not have to make our decisions for us.
Objectives:
  • Objective 1: Participants will develop a better understanding of anxiety, including how it can affect their thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviors.
  • Objective 2: Participants will learn and explore practical strategies to manage anxiety, reduce avoidance, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and take small steps toward their personal goals.
