Course Description:
This six-week course explores the concepts of meaning and purpose in life, specifically focusing on how these concepts support and strengthen the journey of recovery. We will explore the psychological need for meaning, identify core personal values and strengths, and learn practical methods for setting purposeful goals that support long-term wellness and recovery.
Course Objectives:
- Objective 1: To define, differentiate, and recognize the impact of Meaning (significance) and Purpose (action) in personal recovery.
- Objective 2: To identify personal Core Values and Strengths to reclaim identity beyond a mental health diagnosis.
- Objective 3: To translate purpose into manageable Micro-Goals aligned with values, incorporating concepts like the Ikigai framework.
- Objective 4: To understand how Connection and Contribution reinforce a sense of belonging, meaning, and sustained recovery.
