Group Description:
Support for Anxiety helps individuals who are experiencing or have experienced anxiety, either on their own or in conjunction with other mental illnesses, such as OCD. This group gives individuals experiencing anxiety an opportunity to share experiences in a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere so they can support each other and develop coping skills.
Extra Information:
Occasionally, the Support for Anxiety group will be joined by a trained St. John Ambulance volunteer who visits various community settings with their therapy dog to offer comfort and emotional support. The calming presence of a therapy dog can reduce stress, ease anxiety, and lift spirits. Each visit is a chance to connect, bringing warmth, joy, and therapeutic benefit to those who need it most. This session will be hosted In-Person at the CMHA Markham Office. Eligibility: You must experience anxiety to join this support group.
